Support valley businesses, festivals this fall

   The Beaver Creek Fire was so difficult for businesses in our community. Many good ideas have been discussed and many are helping to make a difference. You can, too.
   Make a vow to shop locally. Call, write, email and Facebook all of your friends and family and invite them to the Wood River Valley for a fall visit. There are some fabulous fall festivals and activities coming in September and October. They bring millions of dollars to our local families, businesses and communities. Volunteer a few hours, open your home to visiting authors and performers.
   Festivals and events bring thousands of visitors to our valley and keep friends and family working and businesses open. We could do even better. With a tiny effort, we could collectively bring enough people here to make up August losses.
   I am the director of the Trailing of the Sheep Festival and we have a huge festival planned in October honoring our history and heritage, but that is only a part of the reason I write today. I have witnessed what this community can do when working together for success. There are no limits.
   We love our community and we love our small businesses. They need us now. Let’s work together and create a phenomenal fall. Call me to see how you can help.
