2013-14 school year starts Sept. 3

School District releases registration information

    The Blaine County School District has released the following information regarding registration for the 2013-2014 school year, which begins on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
    Only students new to the district need to register at Bellevue Elementary School, Carey School, Hailey Elementary School and Woodside Elementary School. Parents or guardians will need to call the schools in order to schedule an appointment for registration. Telephone numbers are: Bellevue, 578-5080; Carey, 578-5040; Hailey, 578-5070; and Woodside, 578-5090.
    Hemingway Elementary School in Ketchum will conduct registration for preschoolers, kindergarteners and new students from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from Aug. 21-30. However, the district cautions that construction under way at Hemingway may affect building access. Parents or guardians should visit the Hemingway website through the district website for updates on the registration schedule.
    Registration at Silver Creek High School will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 21 and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 22.


Wood River Middle School
    New middle school students to Blaine County must register by appointment only at Wood River Middle School. Call 578-5030.
    Sixth-graders can register for classes on Aug. 21, last names A-G from 9-10:30 a.m., from H-M from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., from N-R from 1-2:30 p.m. and from S-Z from 2:30-4 p.m.
    Seventh-graders can register for classes on Aug. 22, with last names A-L from 8-10 a.m. and from M-Z from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Eighth-graders can register for classes on Aug. 22, with last names A-L from 1-3 p.m. and from M-Z from 3-5 p.m.
    A makeup session for all grades will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. on Aug. 26.
    The district advises that parents must be present at registration to complete forms.


Wood River High School
    New high school students to Blaine County attending Wood River High School must register with guidance counselors by appointment only on either Aug. 29 or Aug. 30. Call 578-5024.
    All fall sports athletes can register for their sports from 4-8 p.m. on Aug. 27.
    Student class registration for all grades is set of Aug. 28, last names S-Z from 8-11 a.m., M-R from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., F-L from 2-4 p.m. and A-E from 4-6 p.m.
    Additional information on various fees and making payment is available at the Wood River High School website that can be accessed through the district website.


Proof of residency
    Students new to Blaine County and all sixth-graders at Wood River Middle School and ninth-graders at Wood River High School are required to provide documentation of proof of residency in Blaine County.
    Other required documents include an original state-certified birth certificate and immunization records.
    Proof of residency can be established by two current utility bills or proof that that utilities are paid through a lease agreement and one of the following documents: valid Idaho driver’s license or state issued I.D. card, a property tax bill, a current lease agreement or an Idaho tax return. All documentation must include a physical address in Blaine County.
