Litigant with city accused of DUI

Jim Donoval arrested in Ada County

    A former attorney in Blaine County who has been involved in numerous lawsuits against to the city of Sun Valley has been charged in Ada County with driving under the influence.
    The misdemeanor charge against James Russell Donoval was filed following his arrest early Friday morning by Boise police. Arrest records state that Donoval was booked into the Ada County jail at 1:53 a.m. Ada County court records state that Donoval was released from custody later Friday after posting $500 bond.
    An initial court appearance is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Aug. 28 in Ada County Magistrate Court.
    Court and jail records state that Donoval now resides in Eagle.
    Additional information regarding the case against Donoval was not available from the Boise Police Department by press deadline Tuesday.
    Donoval ran for the Idaho State Senate in 2010 against Michelle Stennett and was defeated.
    The husband of former Sun Valley City Administrator Sharon Hammer, Donoval and/or Hammer are now involved in multiple lawsuits involving the city of Sun Valley, former Sun Valley employees or current Sun Valley officials.
