A 30-year-old Hailey woman was transported to St. Luke’s Wood River hospital following a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on state Highway 75 near the Suntree Hollow residential area.
Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey on Tuesday described the injury to Deysi Ruiz-Leon as “minor,” explaining that she complained of neck pain.
The accident occurred at about 4:40 p.m. Ramsey said Ruiz-Leon was southbound in a 2001 Oldsmobile and was stopped in traffic waiting to make a left-hand turn into Suntree Hollow, which is just north of the intersection of Highway 75 and Hospital Drive.
Ramsey said the Ruiz-Leon vehicle was then struck in the rear by a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Beverly Hedin, 63, of Hailey.
The sheriff said Hedin was issued a citation for following too closely. He said both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
