Between The Storms, A ?Tempest?

In this case, one might say that “Life imitates art,” instead of vice-versa. After one night of its planned two-week run, the nexStage Theatre’s production of William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” was interrupted on Aug. 16 by the Beaver Creek Fire. After firefighters got the upper hand on the blaze, the production resumed Friday, Aug. 23, in a free show at the theater. In the play, the usurped duke of Milan, Prospero, employs the natives of an island where he is stranded to conjure up a great storm that brings his seafaring enemies to him. Prospero intends to gain revenge but ultimately forgives his foes. Top: In the performance last Friday, Prospero, played by Keith Moore, subdues his unruly island slave Caliban, played by Brett Moellenberg. Lower: Ariel, an island spirit played by Peter Burke, uses his powers to manipulate Ferdinand, the son of the queen of Naples, played by Jamie Wygle.
