Filing deadline is Friday, Sept. 6

City election is Tuesday, Nov. 5

    The first day for candidates to file their declaration of candidacy in Sun Valley was on Monday, Aug. 26.
    So far, three candidates have declared their candidacy, with Stephen Poindexter, Keith Saks and Peter Hendricks running for City Council. Councilman Nils Ribi has announced that he will not run for re-election. Two seats will be up for election.
    The last day for candidates to file a declaration of candidacy is Friday, Sept. 6, while the deadline to withdraw from the race is Friday, Sept. 20.
    Tuesday, Oct. 8, is the deadline to file a declaration of intent for write-in candidates. The close of voter registration will happen shortly thereafter on Friday, Oct. 11.
    Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
