Help will be needed long into future

Now that the water is winning, Mike Jaquet said it best, “Straight up, the heroes that have saved the most special place on earth to me can never be thanked enough.”
While the media fixates on the marvels of the Schwarzenegger home being saved, the real focus should be on the scores of wildlife that have lost theirs, and on an economy and a community that need to rebuild. Long after the camera crews go, it will be the same fervor so apparent in the face of loss that will be needed to heal. Hunger and basic needs are very real for many souls, even in this valley, and especially now. The Blaine County Hunger Coalition, the Animal Shelter and the multitude of nonprofits necessary to help those in need can use support now more than ever.
To the people returning to the golf course just a tad too soon, if Sun Valley is just a retreat for you, then you might consider those that labor to protect and nourish your escape, thank them, and think about what you might do to aid those less fortunate. Long after the smoke has cleared, help will always be needed on the front lines to keep this special place special. A profound thanks to the firefighters and to all the friends who came together to support the community through this disaster, and cheers to all those who are aiding in the efforts to heal.
