Victim had been working on cell tower

A man who had been working on a cell-phone tower near Picabo was injured last Friday after his car rolled over while he was driving away from the work site.
Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey reported Monday that Kelly Howard, 35, of Van Wert, Ohio, was injured while driving a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox rental car on a dirt road off of U.S. Highway 20 east of Timmerman Junction. Ramsey said Howard was descending from the cell-tower site at about 7:10 p.m. May 31 when he encountered a steep section of road and a turn to the right. Howard was unable to negotiate the turn and went off the road, Ramsey said.
Howard was transported by a co-worker to the Timmerman Junction rest area, where he was met by a team from Wood River Fire and Rescue, Ramsey said. Responders ascertained that Howard might have suffered injuries to his ribs on his right side. Howard was transported to St. Luke’s Wood River, where he was treated and released, Ramsey said.
The sheriff said the car was “badly damaged.”
