Former Hailey man charged with sex crimes

Defendant faces 5 felonies in Lincoln County

     A former Blaine County horse farrier has been charged with felony sex crimes in Lincoln County for alleged illegal conduct with an underage girl.

     Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney E. Scott Paul said Wednesday that Roger Wilkinson, no age available, was formally charged with five counts of lewd conduct with a minor child under 16 at an initial court appearance this week in Lincoln County Magistrate Court.

     Paul declined to release the age of the alleged victim. Paul said Wilkinson was arrested on Friday, May 24, but is now free on $20,000 bond.

     The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday that the case against Wilkinson is still under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office referred all other questions to the prosecutor’s office.

     Wilkinson is formerly of Hailey but now resides in the Shoshone area, authorities said.
