And They’re Off!

By WILLY COOK

Runners embark on the 10th annual Girls on the Run community 5-kilometer race Saturday morning in Hailey. Hundreds of runners, spectators and volunteers flocked to Heagle Park in Hailey for the race and healthy-living expo. All told, there were 315 run/walk competitors, including 75 girls from this season’s Girls on the Run program, six corporate teams and even one moose that ran from the woods next to the course. Twenty-three-year-old Pedro Morales was the top male finisher, with a time of 16:23, and Jena Greaser was the first female finisher and second overall with a time of 19:12.
