Top citizens, scholars named at WRHS

Students honored at Friday assembly

Hailey’s Wood River High School announced its 2012-13 Citizenship Award winners and revealed its senior-class valedictorian and salutatorian during a special Citizenship and Academic awards assembly on Friday, May 17.
    Valedictorian is Gus Kimball. Salutatorian is Brooke Lawrence. Graduation is Friday, May 31, in the school gym.
    Citizenship awards by class are:

  • Seniors: Gus Kimball and Nicole Pratt.
  • Juniors: Max Mauldin and Mary Petzke.
  • Sophomores: Jon Scott, Joel Rinckwald and Rory Cole.
  • Freshmen: Brady Delgadillo and Samantha Taylor.

    Here are the four-year academic awards by department:

  • Social Studies: Miranda Gasenica.
  • PE/Health: Karla Aguayo.
  • Professional Tech Ed: Nicole Pratt.
  • Science: Brooke Lawrence.
  • ESL/World Languages: Yosilin Manterano.
  • Art: Chase England.
  • English: Brooke Lawrence.
  • Math: Yume Mai.
  • Music: Rachel Conover.

    Other awards Friday included: National chess qualifier—Desmond Porth. BPA National Qualifiers—Zac Freeman, Lucas Robertson and Trevor Brand.
