Bellevue man injured in motorcycle crash

Hospital reports victim has been discharged

A 37-year-old Bellevue man was flown by emergency helicopter to a Boise hospital after he crashed a motorcycle early Sunday morning on state Highway 75 just south of Bellevue.
Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey identified the rider as Cody Swanson. The sheriff said Swanson suffered “possible head injuries.”
He was initially transported by Wood River Fire & Rescue ambulance to St. Luke’s Wood River and was transported from there to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
Saint Alphonsus spokeswoman Elizabeth Duncan said Tuesday that Swanson has since been discharged.
Ramsey said the accident occurred at 12:20 a.m. when Swanson was northbound on a 2007 Harley-Davidson. He said Swanson lost control of the bike and ran off the right side of the shoulder, staying upright for 178 feet before colliding with a vehicle parked at the side of the road. The sheriff said the collision knocked the motorcycle on its side, and with Swanson still on it, slid another 140 feet before coming to a stop in the roadway.
