Kids get outside at Eco Camps

    Ketchum’s Environmental Resource Center gathers kids each summer for adventures at overnight Eco Camps next to Prairie Creek, where they are surrounded by acres of land for science discovery.
   Days are spent exploring the diversity of nature with professional educators. Evenings are full of summer fun. Meals are incorporated within the curriculum to highlight the importance of local and organic food systems.
Programs include:

“Water Explorations” July 8-12 for rising 4-7 graders. Be prepared to get wet learning about the world of water.

“Amazing Adaptations” July 15-19. New this year: Star Lab with Scott Slonim, Hemingway Tech Teacher.

“Nature Connections” July 29-Aug. 2. Get dirty exploring the world of native flora and fauna, geology, and natural history.

“Environmental Outdoor Leadership: July 22-26, for rising 8-9 graders. It’s a week-long overnight camp located over Trail Creek Summit. Participants sleep in yurts and explore during an overnight backpack trip. Early registration is recommended. It’s limited to 16 participants.

“Shooting Star Campout” Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 10-11 at Camp Perkins located at Alturas Lake, all ages welcome. Sleep under the stars in the Sawtooth Valley. ERC staff lead nature workshops. Participants enjoy canoeing and kayaking.
