Ketchum’s Station Building Getting ‘Facelift’

Graphic courtesy of PK Ventures. This rendering shows how improvement work on the façade and interior of Ketchum’s iconic Station Building, located at the intersection of Sun Valley Road and East Avenue, will change the building’s look. Michael Page, of building owner Rumford, R.I.,-based PK Ventures, said the building’s location is the “most important retail intersection in town” and that the building needs a “facelift” to help its tenant businesses be more successful. “Given the improvements that have been made across the street and the potential bus depot, it seemed appropriate,” he said, referring to the recently remodeled Visitor Center building and a proposed nearby transportation “mini-hub,” recently approved by Mountain Rides Transportation Authority, but not yet by the city. Page said PK is not “kicking out” any tenants to conduct the remodel. He said tenant businesses will be closed only “for a few days during the construction,” which began this week and should be done by the end of June.
