A 38-year-old Hailey man was listed in good condition Monday at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls after being injured Saturday in a motorcycle accident south of Shoshone.

Idaho State Police reported that Kelly West was taken to the hospital by air ambulance. His 16-year-old-son, Braydan West, a passenger on the motorcycle, was transported to the same hospital by ground ambulance. Braydan West was not listed as a patient at St. Luke’s on Monday, indicating that he had been released.

ISP reported that the accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on U.S. Highway 93 about six miles south of Shoshone when northbound traffic was slowing down for vehicles turning left. ISP reported that Kelly West, northbound on a 2003 Harley-Davidson Road King, “failed to slow down in time and braked suddenly, losing control of the motorcycle,” causing it to tip over.

ISP further reported that both Kelly West and Braydan West were wearing helmets. The accident remains under investigation.
