Hawaiian Nationals bring out 36 to Baldy

Season

Sun Valley Tele staged its end-of-the-season Hawaiian Nationals spring event on Baldy Saturday, March 30, sponsored by Scott Sports.

It was a roaring success with 36 competitors including one Tandem Telemark team—Jen King and Amy Whittier—two people on one pair of skis.

Each competitor was given two timed laps on the dual slalom course. The class winners were Jen King and Neil Persons in Telemark Elite, Reed Stokes and Leilani Bruntz in Telemark Sport, and Guy Robins and Lindsey Johnson in Snowboard Sport.

Here are the top finishers and Saturday’s participants with their best-of-two run times:

- Men’s Telemark Elite: 1—Neil Persons 19.45 seconds. 2—Buck Cobb 20.80. 3—Danny Walton 21.48. Others: Lance Levy 21.84, Connor Davis 22.20, John Anderson 22.74, Todd Mandeville 22.96, Dan Lee 23.50, Aaron Pearson 23.63, Graham Sours 24.04 and Kyle Livingston 25.01.

- Women’s Telemark Elite: 1—Jen King 22.15 seconds. 2—Colleen Mauro 26.49. 3—Casey Hanrahan 29.70. Also: Amy Whittier 30.84.

- Men’s Telemark Sport: 1—Reed Stokes 22.61 seconds. 2—Rick Lethbridge 23.11. 3—Jim Parris 23.62. Others: Nick Smith 24.46, Jordan Carr 26.28, Reese Hodges 26.47, Mose Duchano 27.75, Cameron Smith 28.03, Julian Ryo 28.05, Hannes Thum 28.20, Paul Holle 29.82 and Anders Petersen 30.43.

- Women’s Telemark Sport: 1—Leilani Bruntz 24.92. 2—Kelley Sinnott 29.42. 3—Stacey Ward 34.37.

- Men’s Snowboard Sport: 1—Guy Robins 24.99 seconds. 2—Kyle Wright 25.36. 3—Mose Duchano 27.86. Also: Alex Radoslovich 30.03.

- Women’s Snowboard Sport: 1—Lindsey Johnson 28.60. 2—Melissa Keegan 29.17.

- Tandem Telemark: 1—Jen King and Amy Whittier 50.28 seconds.
