Valeta Rose Wallace

Valeta Rose (Hershberger) Wallace was born Aug. 12, 1928, and passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 3, 2013.

She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Wallace of Santa Fe, N.M., and Liz Wallace (Rick Allington) of Hailey, Idaho; two beloved grandchildren, Madeleine and Asa Anderson of Santa Fe, N.M.; a brother, Fred Hershberger, of Soldotna, Alaska; and a sister, Miriam (David) Mallea of Burns, Ore. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, William E .Wallace. Known affectionately to her grandkids and many other children as “Grandma Val,” she will be deeply missed.

In 2007, Val and Bill moved to Hailey, Idaho, where she enjoyed many outdoor activities and volunteering at Hailey Elementary School. Most of all she loved being with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to many.

At her request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The College of Idaho’s Terteling Library.
