Gerald L. Currie


Gerald L. “Gerry” Currie Jr. was born Oct. 11, 1944, in Paterson, N.J,, the son of 

Gerald L. Currie Sr. and Florence H. Currie (nee Schmits). He died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at his home in Hailey, Idaho, at the age of 68,

Gerry worked at many jobs throughout his life. He’d been a mechanic, a landscaper and a truck driver, to name a few. Before moving to Hailey, he was a professional firefighter for 15 years.

Gerry first came to Hailey in the 1980s with a friend to go hunting. He immediately fell in love with the beauty around him and made Hailey his home in 1986. While here, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and adopting many dogs from the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley.

Gerry is survived by his daughter, Jacki Pagerie; son-in-law, Brett; grandsons, Dalton and Dakota, and granddaughter, Molly, of Buffalo Junction, Va.; brother Albert and wife, Gunilla, in Sweden; brother Kevin in New York City, and honorary daughter, Laura Koschuk, her husband, Tony, and sons, Richard and Kyle, of Deland, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
