Resort denies manager resignation whispers

Tim Silva ‘chuckles’ at rumor

Sun Valley Co. General Manager Tim Silva has denied recent—and rampantly spreading—street talk that he has resigned from his post at the resort.

Though Silva did not return telephone calls seeking comment by press deadline Tuesday, his executive assistant, Claudia Aulum, said Friday that Silva “categorically denies” any rustlings that he has resigned or plans to resign. Reports of the rumor reached the Idaho Mountain Express late last week and, according to Aulum, Silva’s office received numerous calls last week seeking verification of the rumor. Aulum said Silva is as curious as anyone as to how the rumor began, and has been “chuckling” about it since he heard it himself.

Resort spokesman Jack Sibbach reaffirmed Aulum’s denial.

“That’s the first I’ve heard of it,” he said Friday. “If something like that were true, I’m pretty sure I would have heard about it.”

Silva has been the resort’s general manager since May 2009.
