Resort has big plans for Presidents' Day

Sun Valley to offer night skiing on Dollar Mountain

With family fun as the theme, Sun Valley Resort will celebrate Presidents Day with a Presidential Party from Saturday, Feb. 16, through Monday, Feb. 18.

Everyone is invited to the debut of public night skiing on Dollar Mountain, a Bowling Bash and a Grooves On ice-skating party. The celebration will begin Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Sun Valley Lodge bowling alley. Bowling-shoe rental and a soft drink will be covered by a $10 per-person entry fee.

On Sunday night, Dollar Mountain’s Quarter Dollar run and the Progression Park will be lit up from 4-9 p.m. for Sun Valley’s first public night skiing. Season-pass holders and Blaine County pass holders are offered free admission while same-day lift ticket holders, discount and multi-day pass holders can buy a $15 adult ticket or a $10 ticket for kids 11 and under. General fee will be $20 for adults and $15 for kids 11 and under.

Free shuttle service will circle between the Bald Mountain turn-around and Dollar Mountain. Ski/snowboard rentals will be available.

On Monday night from 7-10 p.m., the action will move to the Outdoor Ice Rink where D.J. Lenny will host the Grooves On ice-skating party. A $10 fee includes ice admission, skate-rental fee and free cocoa and cider, with pizza slices for $1.
