Donít throw away our tax dollars

Is a deal a deal?  I thought so, based on the city of Hailey’s decision to appeal the Old Cutters case. But after reading about its efforts to try and avoid its contractual obligation to pay the $400,000 early withdrawal penalty from the insurance pool, it looks like perhaps the city thinks a deal is not a deal. If a deal is not a deal and if it contains illegal provisions (as the city apparently professes in the insurance pool case), why is it contesting the Old Cutters decision, which is based on the exact same premise?
The city’s behavior is confusing at best, and illogical and wasteful at worst. Please do not appeal the Old Cutters decision, and extract us from the insurance pool problem without incurring huge legal fees. We do not like our tax dollars getting spent like this.
