Nice weekend for Pond Hockey Classic

At Ketchum,’s Potters Ice Rink

What a beautiful weekend it was for the sixth annual Idaho Pond Hockey Classic at Christina Potters Ice Rink located at Ketchum’s Atkinson Park!

Sponsors were the city of Ketchum and the Blaine County Recreation District.

Twenty-two teams over two days played in the 4-on-4 (no goalies) double elimination format. There were 15 teams Saturday in the “B Division” (intermediates) and seven teams last Sunday in the “A Division”(advanced players).

In Saturday’s “B” final, the Boise-based “Republic Storage” team with Mike Herbener, John Hansel, Jack Smith, Chad Troska, Ron Hanson and Will Bush defeated “Free Agents.”

“Flagpoles” with Ryan Thomson, Tim Mitchell, Eric Demment, Kyle Rose, Jon Duval and Chad Levitan captured the “A Division” Sunday beating “Fake Dead Girlfriends.”

Tournament director John Kearney Jr. expressed his thanks to Falls Brand, Hayden Beverage, Sun Valley Brewing, Pepsi, Power Engineers and the Sun Valley Suns senior men’s hockey team for its support.
