Grumpy’s knocks off Morgan’s 4-1

Senior “A” Hockey League roundup

Frank Salvoni scored twice as Sun Valley Auto Club/Grumpy’s (4-2-0) pulled into a first place tie with Morgan’s Fine Finishes (4-2-0) by beating Morgan’s 4-1 in Senior “A” Hockey League action Tuesday night at Sun Valley Skating Center.

Charles Friedman and Dave Hennessy added Grumpy’s goals with assists credited to Vilnis Nikolaisons, Ryan Kolquist and Rune Haavik. John Miller scored for Morgan’s, from Danny Ward and Doug Yeates.

Yoga College (3-3-0) stayed a step behind the leaders with a 5-3 victory over Lefty’s Bar & Grill (1-5-0). But Lefty’s, trailing 4-0, made it close when John Kearney Jr. tallied a natural three-goal hat trick for a 4-3 game.

Scoring for Yoga College were Bryan O’Connell (2), Scott Winkler, Zach Crist and Ryan Kolquist. Yoga assists went to Tate Mills (2), Kris Webster and Bob Crosby. Notching assists for Lefty’s were Craig Maxwell and Trevor Thomas.
