Sign up for “Spud Sessions” ski clinics

In January at SV

In its 77th winter season, Sun Valley Resort is continuing its popular ski and snowboard instruction clinics for students and local adults.

The “Spud Sessions,” formerly known as the Blaine County Kids Program, are held in three different sessions from January through March.

Continuing in 2013 are the introductory “Little Spud Sessions,” for ages 3-5.

Open to all Idaho children in kindergarten through sixth grade, “Spud Sessions” are part of broad range of ski and snowboard classes Sun Valley Resort is giving in 2013.

“Spud Sessions,” are being held for the 36th consecutive winter at Sun Valley Resort. Many kids have learned the basics of skiing with the discounted program and parents have appreciated the supervision kids have received.

The first “Spud Session” in Jan. 2013 includes weekend instruction on Jan. 5-6, Jan. 12-13 and Jan. 19-20. The second session runs Jan. 26-27, Feb. 2-3 and Feb. 9-10. The third and final session is March 2-3, March 9-10 and March 16-17.

Group sizes are limited, so sign up early at River Run Lodge. Cost is $135. Discounted session lift tickets are $40.

Morning classes start at 9 a.m. and conclude by 11:30 a.m. Afternoon classes go from 12:30-3 p.m. Regardless of ability, all kids meet at Dollar Lodge at 8:30 a.m. on the first morning.

“Little Spud Sessions” are designed to introduce skiing to kids ages 3-5. Classes are held Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 1-3 p.m. The cost is $200 per session. The next three sessions are Jan. 8-23, Jan. 29-Feb. 13 and Feb. 26-March 13.

Snowboard instruction is available for kids ages 6-and-older, only. Call 622-2289 for details or email HYPERLINK

The Snow Sports School also has plans to again offer Local Adults Clinics in January, but has not yet formalized them.
