B+ Hockey League results

Sun Valley B+ Hockey League results from Sunday, Dec. 23 at Sun Valley Skating Center:

Sharks (5-2-0) stayed a step ahead in the six-team league with a 5-3 win over Aardvarks (4-3-0) in the late game. Rod Watson (2 goals) topped the Sharks, along with single goals by John Cortum, Bill Sprong and Cruger Thomas, plus assists by Nic Thomas, Tom Trieschman and Doug Yeates. For Aardvarks, Clark Shafer tallied two goals to go with Jay Hedrick’s single. Credited with assists were Meri Whitehead (2), Will Hemmings and Pete Prekeges.

Rockets (4-3-0) pulled into a second-place tie 4-1 over Hutch’s Bad Dogs (2-4-1). Rockets scorers were Alex Baron (1 goal/2 assists), Ned Burns (1/1), Gretel Kearney (1/1), Greg Townley (1/0) and Bryan Speth (0/1). Chris Roberts got the Bad Dogs goal, assisted by Mark Ellsbree.

Vipers (4-3-0) outscored Flounders (1-5-1) in a wild one 6-5. Dave McCormack (2 goals) and John Ellison Jr. (2 goals/2 assists) did much of the Vipers damage, with single goals by Jim Laski and Dan Choma.

Other assists went to Baird Gourlay, Dan Gralenski, Georgia Hutchinson, Tony Mallane and Scott Seaward. For Flounders, the goals came from Terry Crawford (2), John Baker, Sean Murphy (2 assists) and Chris Peterson. Adding a pair of assists was Chris Salvatierra.

League play resumes Sunday, Jan. 6 with these games: 4 p.m., Aardvarks vs. Flounders; 5:15 p.m., Rockets vs. Vipers; 6:30 p.m., Bad Dogs vs. Sharks; 7:45 p.m., Wild vs. Racers; and 9 p.m., Blues vs. Flyers.
