Resort offers new ticket option

Sun Valley Co. is now offering a lift ticket option tailored to parents who want to ski but must also take care of young children.

“Parents with young kids can buy a single one-day ticket which the parents can share back and forth,” company spokesman Jack Sibbach said.

Sibbach said the resort added the new option, called the Parent Share Ticket, to its lift ticket lineup based on guest feedback.

“Once we received the feedback, we felt parents shouldn’t have to buy two tickets for what is effectively one day of skiing,” he said.

Sibbach said the share ticket is available on both Bald and Dollar mountains and costs the same as a regular one-day ticket on either of those mountains.

Additionally, according to the resort’s website, children 4 and under ski free on Dollar. An entire family—with kids under 5—can now enjoy a full day on Dollar for $59.

Learn about ‘intuitive eating’

St. Luke’s Center for Community Health will present several talks about “intuitive eating” this month at St. Luke’s Wood River.

According to a press release, registered dietitian Liz LeFevre will explain the 10 principles of intuitive eating to help people make peace with food. The talk will teach attendees how to distinguish between physical an emotional feelings, get rid of food worry and guilt, and gain a sense of body wisdom.

The Brown Bag talk will take place Thursday, Jan. 3, from 12:15-1:15 p.m. at St. Luke’s Baldy Rooms.

An additional four-week series on further investigating the subject will be held Mondays, Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28, from 3-4 p.m. To register for the series, call 727-8733.
