Community School junior Hannah Dies has been chosen as a midfielder for the 2012 Idaho High School Soccer Coaches Association Girls’ All-State soccer team.

Dies (25 goals, 71 career) led the Cutthroats to a 16-3-1 record this fall and second place in the State 3A soccer tournament. She scored the only Sun Valley goal in the 2-1 championship game loss to McCall-Donnelly.

What makes the Dies selection so remarkable was she was the only player chosen from a smaller school, either 4A or 3A. The other 10 girls’ selections were from 5A schools. All 11 All-State boys were 5A players.

Girls’ “Player of the Year” was Kelcie Hedge from State 5A runner-up Post Falls (13-7-0), and Girls’ “Coach of the Year” was Matt Ruchti from State 5A champion Lake City (10-6-4).

Boys’ “Player of the Year” was Timmy Mueller from State 5A champion Post Falls (17-1-1) and “Coach of the Year” was Gabe Lawson, also Post Falls.
