The Sun Valley Figure Skating Club (SVFSC) had three skaters attend regional competitions in recent weeks.

Shayna Moellenberg, the club’s highest level junior competitive skater, competed in the Senior Ladies class at the 2013 Northwest Pacific Regional Figure Skating Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Moellenberg, a Community School 12th-grade student, received the bronze medal in her Free Skate and Short programs. She qualified to compete at the Sectional Championships in Provo, Utah, Nov. 9-13 as the reigning Senior Ladies NWP Regional Bronze Medalist. This is the fourth consecutive year Shayna has represented the SVFSC at sectionals. Her primary coach is Lisa-Marie Allen.

Katie Peters, a Community School seventh grader, competed in the Northwest Pacific Regional Figure Skating Non Qualifying competition and received sixth place. Lisa Marie Allen is also her coach.

Sheldon Gentling, a fourth grader at the Community School, competed in the Central Pacific Regional Non Qualifying competition in Salt Lake City, Utah Oct. 18.  Gentling, coached by Darlin Baker, took seventh place in Pre-Preliminary girls with Axel.

The SVFSC was formed in 1936. With over 125 U.S. Figure Skating Club members and 100 Basic Skills Club members, the club's activities comprise a full-time year-round program.
