Ashley Nicole Prior born Jan. 7, 1988, in Sun Valley, Idaho, died Oct. 23, 2012. She was raised in the Wood River Valley and graduated from Wood River High School in 2006 and then attended Santa Barbara City College and BSU.
She was funny, smart and could light up a room with her smile. If you ever spoke with her, she would say, “I just want to make sure everyone is happy.” She was never ashamed of the hurdles she faced in life but instead presented them as an opportunity for others to learn, such as she did with her senior project in high school. She created a lesson plan (still used today at University of Idaho) that informs teens on the dangers of meth. She fought the disease of addiction since she was 15 and she fought hard! In the end, the disease won but she will not be forgotten.
Ashley is survived by her mother, Gigi Prior; stepfather, Mal Prior; and two siblings, Jessica Prior, 28, and Mal Prior, 20. We love her very much and will always have her in our hearts.
A celebration of Ashley's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, upstairs at Whiskey Jacques’ in Ketchum, Idaho, 251 N. Main St. with a potluck reception following. Bring your pictures, memories, dancing shoes and a huge smile!
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank under Ashley Prior Memorial Fund.
