Say ‘Yes to Air Service’

For the last several months I’ve been doing outreach on the 1 percent LOT for air issue, going to scores of meetings, sitting in front of the Ketchum Post Office and next to the melons and pumpkins at Atkinsons’.  Talking to locals, second-home owners, workers, business owners, retirees and visitors, answering questions, handing out literature and sending people to HYPERLINK "" have produced some observations that I’d like to share with you:

( Blaine County voters are thinkers; they want to understand important issues that impact the community.

( Voters get the connection between improving air service and improving our local economy.  They understand that we are all connected economically.

( Locals, second-home owners, businesses and visitors all want to retain and expand our commercial air service.

( The citizens who have taken the time to study the issue overwhelmingly support the 1 percent LOT for air service.

I have never seen our community come together so quickly and so strongly in support of such an important civic issue.  People understand this is the single most important thing we can do to improve our local economy.

Please vote Nov. 6 in favor of 1 percent LOT for air service on the back page of your ballot.
