‘Pink Out’ adds color to grid game

Benefit at WRHS

Hailey’s Wood River High School is staging a “Pink Out” in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month today, Friday, as part of the high school football game against Burley.

Adding zest to the night for spectators at Hailey’s Phil Homer Field is a Powderpuff football game at halftime. The Great Basin Conference boys‘ game itself starts at 7 p.m.

English teacher and Student Union advisor Stephanie Spindler said, “We will be selling T-shirts for $10 at the game with all net proceeds to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Fund.”

At halftime, the game clock will be set for 17 minutes and the Powderpuff football game will start. As the second quarter winds down, announcer Mike David will ask the girls and coaches to gather in the west end zone for their game.
