Rock Creek runs for Hailey thinclads

Ideal running conditions greeted Wood River High School cross country runners during Wednesday’s five-school Canyon Ridge Invitational meet at Rock Creek, Twin Falls.

Janel Passey’s third-place girls’ varsity finish in 22:54 led the Wolverine girls to a second-place team finish with 45 points behind Twin Falls (23). Chase England (17:40) also placed third in the boys’ race with Burley (34) winning the team title and Wood River (56) third.

Middle school thinclads

Cross country runners at Hailey’s Wood River Middle School wrapped up their 2012 season Thursday, Oct. 11, during the conference meet held at Dierkes Lake in Twin Falls.

Overall, the fall season turned out to be a good experience for the young Wolverines of coaches Bill Cantrell and Steve Poklemba, including recent meets at the College of Southern Idaho campus and Rock Creek in Twin Falls.

At Rock Creek, the Hailey girls placed three runners in the top 20. At CSI, the girls placed second overall and the boys third as a team. Top placings covering the two meets:
