Fly Sun Valley Alliance gets new structure

Cities renew contracts with nonprofit group

The cities of Ketchum and Sun Valley have renewed contracts with Fly Sun Valley Alliance for $40,000 and $38,000, respectively, to take into consideration possible results of a new local-option tax election.

Both cities included a termination clause that would allow each city’s council to void its city’s contract with Fly Sun Valley Alliance should the Sun Valley Air Service Board hire Fly Sun Valley Alliance to administer the LOT funds. They also changed the payment terms of their contracts from lump-sum payments to month-to-month payments.

“I have no problem with that,” said Carol Waller, Fly Sun Valley Alliance executive director, at the Sun Valley City Council meeting Sept. 20.

Lisa Horowitz, Ketchum’s director of community and economic development, agreed with the way Sun Valley reshaped its contract.

“That seemed reasonable to us,” Horowitz said at a Ketchum City Council meeting Oct. 1.
