Special meeting set for Oct. 9

By TERRY SMITH
Express Staff Writer

The Blaine County School District board of trustees has scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday, Oct. 9, for a quarterly financial review presented by district Treasurer Mike Chatterton and the district’s accounting firm, Jones, Yost, Hatt and Erikson.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the district office at 118 W. Bullion St. in Hailey. The special meeting will be followed at 6 p.m. by the board’s regular October meeting.

According to the agenda, at the regular meeting the trustees will discuss the Idaho State Department of Education’s new “star” rating system, the district’s two-language dual immersion program and Common Core Standards, a nationwide initiative aimed at standardizing educational systems throughout the United States.

The board will also hear a report on this year’s summer school from Summer School Principal Sandy Mauro.

A complete agenda is available at the district website at www.blaineschools.org.
