Tully’s Coffee closes
The branch of Tully’s Coffee located on Sun Valley Road closed Monday, according to the building’s owner.
Jack Bariteau, managing member of Colonnade LLC, which owns the building, said he found out that the shop was closing on Sunday, when his property manager called him.
“They don’t typically give you notice [in this situation],” he said.
Bariteau said the store had been “struggling,” though it had been a tenant of the building for 13 years.
“They basically are struggling as a company, and unfortunately, I think their corporate struggles are impacting their stores,” he said.
Bariteau said Colonnade LLC is already in talks with similar companies to open a new shop in that space.
“The location is one of the best in town,” he said, adding that he feels that Tully’s failed to respond to the latest reboot of Starbucks Coffee, which took over a spot at the nearby Visitor Center, and that likely hurt the store’s business.
