For those who haven’t yet done their good deed for 2012, there’s still time to help bring a child a gift for Christmas that he or she might not have received, while enjoying a day motorcycling around town with friends old and new, at the 20th annual Wood River Valley Toy Run on Saturday, Sept. 29.
The Toy Run is ready to facilitate the effort as well as to invite anyone with a motorcycle to join in a road run that starts with charity in Ketchum, makes a toy drop in Hailey and ends with a big, fat end-of-summer rally in Bellevue.
Organizer Mike Kelly says people don’t need to ride to participate. Cash donations will allow for the purchase of gift certificates for older children. Toys should be new and worth a minimum of $15.
The Toy Store at Sun Valley Village and King’s in Hailey are offering 20 percent discounts for toy run toys.
Those who plan to ride the route from Ketchum south down state Highway 75 need to show up at Grumpy’s in Ketchum before 1 p.m. The scene has swollen to 500 bikes in the past. The next leg stops off at The Wicked Spud in Hailey and finally at The Silver Dollar in Bellevue with barbecue and live music with Straight Up and Hoodwink.
This generosity is offered rain or shine. For more information, contact Kelly at 721-1136.
