Swimmers dip into high school season

A winning meet in Ketchum

High school swimmers from Hailey’s Wood River High School got off to a great start on their competitive seasons Saturday, Sept. 15 during the Wood River Invitational meet at the Ketchum YMCA pool.

Coach Brian Gallagher’s Wood River boys’ and girls’ teams dominated results of the 12-school meet and won top points and honors. Twin Falls and other Magic Valley schools like Kimberly, Gooding, Shoshone and Burley took part, as well as Pocatello, Highland and Mountain Home.

Wood River’s girls handily won all three relays. They were, with their times:

- Women’s 200 medley (1:58.88) with Kelsey Syms, Lena Friesen, Tayler Bates and Olivia Wentzell;

- Women’s 200 free (1:50.65) with Kaedi Fry, Maddie Johnson, Colby Werley and Lena Friesen;

- Women’s 400 free (4:01.27) with Kaedi Fry, Olivia Wentzell, Tayler Bates and Maddie Johnson.
