Thinclads pick up pace at Rigby

Bob Firman footrace is next


Twenty-five Wood River High School cross country runners were in the field of 407 varsity and junior varsity thinclads finishing Friday’s Rigby Invitational 3.1-miler in eastern Idaho.

Wood River senior Chase England (17:31) placed sixth of 80 boys’ varsity runners, as Pocatello swept the podium paced by medalist Elijah Armstrong (16:32), a sophomore.

Junior Janel Passey (24:10) led the Wolverine girls varsity runners in 44th place as Pocatello freshman Rachel McGovern (19:37) was the individual medalist. Finishing second overall of 137 boys’ JV runners was Wood River senior Ketchum Wilt (18:37), just one second off the top pace.
