Bigger profits or a cleaner world?

    It’s good we have a lot of smoke in the air because it gives us an opportunity to see the future under Republican rule. Imagine what could have happened if during the Reagan years “global warming” was taken seriously. New industries to combat the problem. Instead, the Republican view that profits are more important than people has continued until this day.
    Mitt Romney complains that regulations are causing polluting companies to shut down. Seems Romney/Ryan and those voting Republican would rather see the world and their children destroyed in the quest for corporate profit than leap into the new world of less-polluting renewable energy that helps everyone, which President Obama supports. Strange.
    Why preserve and conserve energy sources that have been proven to be harmful to the planet that sustains our lives? Don’t you love your children? Seems insane, and yet Idaho, you vote Republican time and time again against your own best interests.
    President Obama has a different future planned for us. In just the few short years he has held office, his conservation policies have taken tons of pollutants out of the air—air your children will need to breathe. Contrast that with the Bush administration, which falsified science so corporations could continue to profit at humanity’s expense.
    Even Fox “News” had to give up disputing the fact that the world is growing hotter because their misrepresentation was so damaging to their “fair and balanced” statement.
    So the choice is yours, Republicans. Go ahead and continue supporting Republican policies that help destroy your children’s future or support President Obama, who offers, and is already working toward, a future with cleaner air, health care and college educations for your children. It’s your vote and your children.
    What’s it going to be, Republicans? You going to be selfish or sane?
