Registration under way at Blaine schools

New students, 6th-graders required to provide proof of residency

Registration for students in grades 6-12 is under way this week and next week in the Blaine County School District. According to the district, elementary school students are not required to re-register unless they will be new students at the school they’ll be attending.

Parents of students new to the School District are reminded that they will need to provide several documents, including birth certificates, immunizations records and proof of Blaine County residency.

The proof of residency requirement also applies to all sixth-graders enrolling at Wood River Middle School.

Proof of residency can be established with two current utility bills or a lease that states that utilities are included. One additional document is also required. It can be a valid driver’s license, property tax bill, current lease, notarized affidavit from a current landlord or homeowner, or an Idaho tax return. All documentation must establish a physical address in Blaine County.

Additional information is available at the district website at www.blaineschools.org. Information on individual schools can be found by clicking on a school’s tab and then selecting the school desired.

According to the district website, only students new to the district need to register at Bellevue Elementary School, Carey School, Hailey Elementary School and Woodside Elementary School. To make arrangements for registration, call Bellevue Elementary at 578-5080, Carey School at 578-5040, Hailey Elementary at 578-5070 and Woodside Elementary at 578-5090.

Registration for pre-school, kindergarten and new students was held at Hemingway Elementary School on Tuesday, Aug. 21. Anyone who missed it can call the school at 578-5050 or the district office at 578-5000.

School starts Tuesday, Sept. 4.
