David Dale Mink passed away following a sudden illness on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, with his family at his side.
He was 66 years old. Dale was born in Gooding on Oct. 12, 1945, to Betty and Masten Mink, joining his two brothers, Jack and Clarence (Tyke).
He graduated from Gooding High in 1963 and was stationed on the USS Bennington subsequent to his enlistment in the Navy. After being honorably discharged, he attended Idaho State University where he studied English for four years.
He moved to Hailey and married Cris Wall in 1972, with whom he had two children, Katie (1978) and Nate (1976).
While living in the Wood River Valley, he started his own concrete company, Mink's Crete. Construction was an occupation that he loved and would pursue for the rest of his life.
Dale enjoyed the outdoors, poetry, fishing, photography, travel, playing the guitar and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie, of Boise; son, Nate, of Los Angeles; mother, Betty of Wendell; brother Jack and his wife, Debbie, of Buhl; and brother Tyke and his wife, Marla, of Bellevue.
A memorial service will be held at the Methodist Church in Wendell at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012.
