SVSEF fundraiser Kate Berman to step down

After 2012-13 season

In 17 years, Ketchum's Kate Berman has worn many hats for the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation—parent, volunteer, board member and fundraising events director.

According to an Aug. 2 article published on the SVSEF Web site, Berman will be hanging up her fundraising hat for good at the conclusion of the 2012-13 winter season.

In her resignation letter to the SVSEF board, Berman said, "I cherish the relationships I have built with the Ketchum/Sun Valley community. I especially treasure my relationships with the SVSEF's staff and families. Being a part of the SVSEF will forever be a highlight in my life."

For this winter, Berman will remain at the helm for the SVSEF's major fundraisers, the Fall Game Dinner on Nov. 10 and Janss Pro-Am Classic from April 4-6, 2013.

She and her husband, Andy Berman, have two children, Sara, 23, and Riley, 21, both SVSEF alumni.

A stalwart parent volunteer, Kate Berman joined the SVSEF Board of Directors in 2000. Her tireless work ethic and keen eye for detail led her to become the non-profit organization's primary fundraiser and was named events director in 2001.

SVSEF executive director Don Wiseman said, "The SVSEF has been blessed to have had Kate Berman as part of the organization and leading its event fundraising efforts. No one can match her passion, dedication, work ethic and love for mission of the SVSEF."
