Paint the town pink

Expedition Inspiration keeps breast cancer topical

Paint the Town Pink, a week dedicated to raising awareness for breast cancer, hosted by Expedition Inspiration, which dedicates money to research and to hold an annual think tank symposium.

Music, burgers and beer

Wednesday, July 25: Back Alley Party at Wicked Spud

305 N. Main St., Hailey

5-9:30 p.m.

Music by folk band Slow Children Playing and a raffle at one of the valley's favorite outdoor spaces.

Art and honor

July 28-Aug. 4: "1 in 8" Art Installation by Danica Mattias

Sun Valley Road Field

24 hours a day.

Interact with an art installment designed by Danica Mattias that honors breast cancer survivors and those lost to the disease. Submit the name of a loved one to be featured on a special tribute flag included in the exhibit at www.expeditioninspiration.org or by calling 726-6456.

Neon and over the top fashion performance

Thursday, Aug. 2: EI + Ochi Gallery featuring Bella BoomBox Creations and Laddie John Dill

119 Lewis St., Ketchum.

8-10 p.m.

Immerse in an evening of over-the-top fashion performance, beautiful women, art installation, cocktails and live music. A $10 requested donation at the door.

Outdoor movie premiere

Friday, Aug. 3: EI Documentary Premiere at Town Square

Fourth Street between Leadville and East avenues

8-10:30 p.m.

Walk the Pink Carpet and view the premiere of Expedition Inspiration's documentary by Scott Farquharson. Enjoy refreshments from The Cellar, munch on popcorn and ice cream and BYO chair and blanket.

Take-a-Hike and Climb for the Cure (An EI signature event)

Saturday, Aug. 4: Boundary Campground and Otto's Peak

2-6 p.m. for "hikers," 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for "climbers" (subject to change)

Hike or climb in the name of breast cancer research and enjoy dinner and music at Boundary Campground afterward. Various hiking levels, and $25 registration donation required for hikers. Fundraise for a chance to win prizes including a paragliding ride with Sun Valley Paragliders.
