RECENT RESULTS

Elevate 15, KECH/Windermere 4

After its narrow loss to Main St. earlier in the evening, Elevate (18 hits) stayed hot with its bats and posted its first win of the season—using a 7-run, 7-hit third and 5-run, 7-hit sixth. Elevate: Cooper Minnis 4 hits (2 HR, double) and 3 runs, Kellee Havens 3 hits and 3 runs, Matt Siegel 3 doubles and 2 runs, Travis Thelen 3 hits (HR, double). KECH: Shannon Flavin 4 hits (triple, 2 doubles) and 3 runs, Danny Maloney 2 hits (triple, double).

Firefighters 17, Main St./Starbucks/B&B 10

Firefighters erased an early 3-0 deficit with a 7-hit, 7-run second, then stretched their lead with 9 runs on 11 hits in their final three at-bats. With spot starter Steve McCoy on the mound throwing deceptively, Firefighters held the hard-hitting Main St. attack to 3 hits and just 2 runs in the final four innings. Firefighters: Matt Christian 5 hits (double) and 3 runs, Sue Mulcahy 3 hits (double) and 3 runs, Keith Potter 4 hits (double), Jeff Burrell 2 hits and 2 runs, Steve McCoy 2 doubles and 2 runs, Karen McNary 2 hits and 2 runs. Main St.: Ryan Stavros 3 doubles and 2 runs, Wendy Hosman 2 hits and 2 runs, Buddy Peterson 2 hits and 2 runs.

Lefty's Bar & Grill 22, Casino/Whiskey Jacques 5 (6 innings)

Lefty's (25 hits) kept its unbeaten boast and nailed down the top tournament seed with a 7-run fifth and 7-run sixth. Lefty's: Buffalo Rixon 3 hits (2 doubles) and 3 runs, Wendy Speth 4 hits and 3 runs, Anthony Anderson 3 hits (2-run HR) and 3 runs, Kenny Nelson 3 hits (2 HR) and 3 runs, Kyle Rushton 3 hits (double) and 3 runs, Brenda Blackwell 3 hits and 2 runs. Casino: Tom Moreland 2 hits.

Main St./Starbucks/B&B 14. Elevate 13

Once-beaten Main St./Starbucks needed a dramatic late rally to hold off upset-minded Elevate. Sean Harrington (4 hits, 3 doubles, 3 runs) slammed a grand slam HR in the home seventh capping a 6-hit, 7-run explosion that rallied Main St. from a 13-7 deficit. It looked like Elevate's game early on. Elevate ripped 9 hits for 7 runs in the first four frames, then added 4 runs on 6 hits in the visitor fifth for a comfortable 11-1 lead. Limited to just 7 hits and 1 run in the first four stanzas, Main St. came alive in the home fifth on a Joe LaManna 3-run HR. The eventual winners added 3 runs in the home sixth cutting their deficit to 11-7 on back-to-back triples by Ryan Stavros (3 hits, 2 runs) and Wendy Hosman (2 hits, 2 runs). For Elevate, Cooper Minnis (3 hits, 2 doubles) provided insurance in the visitor seventh with a 2-run triple for a 13-7 lead. That's when Main St. put together its final rally. Main St.: Alysia May 2 hits, Natalie Spenser 3 hits (double), Neil Bradshaw 3 hits (triple). Elevate: Dirk Zondag 3 hits (double) and 4 runs, Matt Siegel 3 hits (HR) and 2 runs, Brian Shea 2 hits (double).
