Ducks Unlimited shoot is a bang-up success

Ketchum's Jim Kuntz and Kellen Chatterton of Hailey tied for high overall honors at the seventh annual Wood River Ducks Unlimited Fun Shoot on June 2-3 south of Bellevue.

Chatterton and Kuntz emerged with 385 out of a possible 400 targets on a sunny weekend at Wood River Gun Club.

The pair tied at 196 in the singles competition from the 16-yard-line, Kuntz winning in a shootout and Chatterton the runner-up. Chatterton was the handicap champion at 189 from the 22-yard-line, with Kuntz (189) settling for the runner-up.

( Total 400 MOA—Fred Anderson 346.

( Total 400 LOA—Shaun Elorrieta 199.

( Draw winners for prizes like money clips and knives were Kody Klundt 380, Hoss Schmidt 378, Juan Goitiandia 374, Rick Ruggles 374, Jason Haynes 374, Robert Kolman 368, Pete Miller 365, Brad Thomas 358, Zack Sewell 351, C.J. Gorringe 343, Chad Lukkasson 342, David Arnaiz 337, Chris Larsen 335, Teagan Foster 326 and Mike Parker 315.

Committee Chair Matt Thornton said the event raised more than $5,000 that goes to Ducks Unlimited for restoring and preserving wetlands.

He said, "Many thanks to all the shooters and donors who made the Ducks Unlimited Fun Shoot such a success."
