Gallery Walk will take place Saturday, May 26, from 5-8 p.m. Skim the listings below in advance as some galleries have special events and guests in the days surrounding the walk. The event is sponsored by the Sun Valley Gallery Association, which is composed of the first nine galleries listed.

BROSCHOFSKY GALLERIES

The Courtyard, 360 East Ave.—"Spring Salon" showcases new works by gallery artists who will be featured through the summer, including Russell Chatham, Michael Coleman, Brandon Cook, Glen Edwards, Jan Grotenbreg, Tom Howard, Gordon McConnell and Theodore Villa.

FREDERIC BOLOIX FINE ARTS

The Galleria, 351 Leadville Ave., at Fourth and Leadville—Frederic Boloix Fine Arts will have a group show of works by Francoise Gilot, Henri Matisse, Gustavo Acosta, Salustiano and sculptures by Voss Andreae.

FRIESEN GALLERY

320 First Ave. N.—Celebrating the contemplative works of David Kimball Anderson, illustrative drawings by Susan Russell Hall and a book signing by Marie Manuchehri, R.N., in tandem with and benefiting the Sun Valley Wellness Festival. These three talents bring together a cohesive event that is completely in tune with wellness on all levels. Sculptor Anderson's works embody both minimalist sensibilities as well as a touch of embellishment. He uses his art practice as mediation, his way of getting in touch with the world. Manuchehri, a Wellness Festival presenter, will be signing her newly released book "Intuitive Self-Healing," featuring Hall's illustrations. Hall sees art as a visual language—used with the hope of bringing discovery, compassion and empowerment to the viewer. Anderson, Hall and Manuchehri will all be present for the reception.

GAIL SEVERN GALLERY

400 First Ave. N.— "State of Nature" will be on display through June, and all four exhibition spaces are dedicated to artistic portrayal of our outside world. "State of Nature" will include artists Jenny Honnert Abell, Tony Berlant, Carolyn Brady, Morgan Brig, David deVillier, Betsy Eby, Michael Gregory, Michelle Haglund, Valerie Hammond, Hung Liu, Lynda Lowe, Robert McCauley, Kenna Moser, Gwynn Murrill, Ed Musante, Gary Nisbet, Carolyn Olbum, Joseph Raffael, Christopher Reilly, Rene Rickabaugh, Jane Rosen, Brad Rude, Allison Stewart and Inez Storer.

GALLERY DENOVO

320 First Ave. N.—"Abstractions of Spring" will feature mixed media works by Michel Beaucage, thick impasto oil paintings by Zhang He and additional paintings and sculpture. The upstairs galleries will showcase paintings by Dutch artist Rein de Lege as well as Canadian master Yehouda Chaki.

Gilman Contemporary

661 Sun Valley Road-Gilman Contemporary introduces painter Erik Hall, who spends every day in his studio developing color against canvases and entertaining himself with the interplay of transparent colors layered one over the next. Upon closer examination, the images dissolve and the true nature of the work is made apparent. Like water freezing, the paint forms a crystal, which gives way to a larger and larger form until the entire canvas is covered with an image. Like ice, the image was born out of process, shaped perhaps by its surrounding, but having very little to do with the neighboring aesthetic. That is to say, that Hall's work is not about landscapes at all.

KNEELAND GALLERY

271 First Ave.—Kneeland Gallery will display a group exhibition with a preview of works by many of the artists who will be featured over the summer season, and an emphasis on those of artists residing in Idaho. View paintings by John Horejs, James Palmersheim, Hadley Rampton, Robert Moore, Lori McNee, Bart Walker and Debbie Edgers-Sturges, among others.

SUN VALLEY CENTER FOR THE ARTS

191 Fifth St.— Peter De Lory's photographs of central Idaho's Shoshone Falls, and other waterfalls throughout the West, are on view at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts' exhibition "Shoshone Falls: 3 Perspectives." Formerly the director of the Sun Valley Center's photography program for five years in the late 1970s and early 1980s, de Lory will speak about his work at 6 p.m. during the Gallery Walk. Wine, beer and light refreshments will be served, and the gallery will remain open until 8 p.m.

EXPRESSIONS GALLERIES

360 East Ave.—Expressions Galleries is overflowing with new works by Mary Roberson, Jim Rey, Bill Mittag, Fran Kievet and a new-to-it artist, Julie Bender, who does breathtaking wildlife images using the art of pyrography. Soon to arrive as well is a new bronze masterwork by Dave McGary "Battle at Bear Paw," which depicts Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce.

SUN VALLEY SOTHEBY'S INTERNATIONAL REALTY

291 N. Main St.—A showcase of images of various 2012 Community School senior projects. Students whose project will be showcased include Camille Bourret, Josie Bunce, Sophia Carkonen, Katie Dumke, Reta Flynt, Noe Garing, Cooper Hanley, Morgan Jones, Meredith Pintler, Margaret Pope, Hailey Rheinschild and Morgan Roudabush. Projects range from creating fashion using recycled materials, to becoming certified in scuba diving, to studying dance in Brazil.

ARTPROJECTA

In the Starbucks on Sun Valley Road and East Avenue—ARTprojectA.com, a locally based e-commerce website that specializes in curated, affordable fine art will have a special showing. ARTprojectA partners with local artists Kirk Anderson, Kathryn McNeal, Kary Kjesbo, Lisa Holley and Kim Howard for the show of prints, painting, jewelry and more. Many of the artists will be in attendance. Starbucks will have a wine tasting as well as food. ARTprojectA was co-founded by Barbi Reed, owner of Anne Reed Gallery, and Claudia Aulum, former owner of The Open Room.
