Tickets on sale for Porsche raffle

Drug Coalition announces road rally schedule

It's never too early to pay $100 for a 2012 Porsche Cayenne.

As it did last year, the Blaine County Community Drug Coalition is raffling off a Porsche SUV in conjunction with this year's Sun Valley Road Rally.

Tickets are $100 each. They can now be purchased at www.sunvalleyroadrally.com. Come May 31, tickets can be purchased at Atkinsons' Market in Ketchum, Hailey and Bellevue. According to the Drug Coalition, only 1,500 tickets will be printed.

The road rally, the major fundraiser for the Drug Coalition, is scheduled to be held on state Highway 75 north of Ketchum on Saturday, July 28. The event involves hot cars such as Aston Martins, Ferraris, Mustangs and Porsches trying to achieve speeds approaching 200 mph on an otherwise closed stretch of highway.

Pre-events include a Ketchum Cruise from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 27, when hotrods and custom vehicles will be paraded around town, and a gala dinner and auction at River Run Lodge from 6-12 p.m. the same day.

Spectators will have a chance to see the vehicles registered to run in the rally on the morning of July 28 in the lower parking lot at River Run Lodge.

Visit the rally website to purchase tickets or for more information.
