The Blaine County School District expects to get started soon with security upgrades at Wood River High School and Wood River Middle School.

Award of contract for "camera and door access controls" is listed as an action item for the district board of trustees meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 8. The board will also likely approve a contract for site improvements at Carey School.

Work on both contracts is expected to be done this summer.

Also listed on the agenda is a science textbook selection update from district Director of Curriculum Patricia McLean.

A complete meeting agenda is available at the district website at www.blaineschools.org.

Tuesday's meeting is one of three public meetings scheduled by the school district for May. All three will be held at the district office at 118 West Bullion St. in Hailey.

The school board has scheduled a special meeting to start at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 24. The district lists the topic as "Dual Immersion Program update and Hailey Elementary School enrollment."

Finally, the district will hold its annual district budget workshop starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30.
