Croy Canyon works for community

I am responding to the article in the April 18 edition titled "County ponders senior-care alliance."

Croy Canyon Ranch Foundation is not about "clashing" with anyone, nor are we out to "attack" anyone or any organization. We are promoting a plan for senior care that we think is the best one for Blaine County. The care currently being provided at Blaine Manor and those employees will be part of the continuing care program at Croy Canyon Ranch when it is built.

I was quoted as saying that I would encourage the county to only consider skilled-nursing providers that have at least a 3-star Medicare rating. That is correct. Blaine Manor's overall rating is 5 out of 5 stars. Why would we consider anything leas? I was merely stating that we should aim as high as we can. It is what the people of Blaine County would expect.

Croy Canyon Ranch Foundation has put in an extraordinary amount of time and effort to create and fundraise for a three-tiered continumn of care community. Addressing elder care is a social responsibility, much like education for our youth and hospital care for the sick and injured, We have continued to raise philanthropy for this project from many of our residents, as people here in our valley believe in meeting the long-term care needs of our community.

Croy Canyon Ranch Foundation is working diligently with the county commissioners and will present our business plan soon. We are collaborating with Blaine Manor so that the people of this valley know there are many of us united in this goal to provide senior care of the highest caliber.
