Fullman, Reed claim gold at World Masters

Alpine ski racers at Mammoth

Sun Valley Ski Club alpine ski racers Virginia Reed and Carl Fullman earned gold medals during the Skier's Edge FIS Masters World Cup Criterium alpine ski races staged March 26-30 at Mammoth Mt., Ca.

Reed swept the Women's Class 11 (ages 80-84) Group C category by winning the March 27 slalom, the March 29 giant slalom and the March 30 super giant slalom.

After being disqualified in the opening Men's Class 10 (70-74) Group B slalom race on March 27, Fullman was a monster winning the March 29 giant slalom by 1.02 seconds and the March 30 super giant slalom by 1.49 seconds.

Sun Valley's Keith Thompson also had fine results with three silver medals in the Men's Class 9 (70-74) Group B category at Mammoth—trailing only three-time gold medalist Peter Krassel of Austria.

Krassel was the clear winner in the slalom and giant slalom, but Thompson turned on the speed and trailed SG winner Krassel by only 0.60 seconds in the World Criterium finale.
